Amita Vulimiri

Community Law Program – CLP


Amita is a lawyer at CLAS, and works in the areas of housing, income security and workers’ rights.

Before becoming a lawyer, Amita worked as a legal advocate, representing low income clients on administrative law issues. She has also practiced family and criminal law, working primarily with clients receiving legal aid, and has worked in Nairobi, Kenya with the Canadian Bar Association’s Young Lawyers International Program, where she provided litigation support at the Law Society of Kenya on more systemic, public interest matters impacting Kenyans.

Amita has volunteered on the boards of Peers Victoria Resources Society and ARA Mental Health and Vancouver Association for Survivors of Torture.
