Community Law Program – CLP
Laura is a lawyer in the Community Law Program at CLAS and works primarily in the areas of disability rights, mental health, and human rights. Laura conducts systemic litigation and engages in research and law reform efforts to improve access to justice, fairness, and Charter rights for marginalized populations. Laura is an Adjunct Professor at the Allard School of Law at UBC and frequently provides education to legal and medical professionals on topics that impact adults with mental disabilities, such as the Mental Health Act, the Adult Guardianship Act, and the Health Care (Consent) and Care Facility (Admission) Act.
Prior to joining CLAS Laura clerked at the British Columbia Supreme Court and worked and volunteered for several disability rights and equality seeking non-profit organizations.
