Claire McGauley (she/her) is a lawyer in the Mental Health Law Program. She represents people before the BC Review Board and the Mental Health Review Board.
Claire articled for a boutique criminal defence firm that specializes in major crimes where she assisted clients across the province at the Provincial Court of BC, the BC Supreme Court, and BC Court of Appeal.
Claire has a Bachelor of Social Work with high distinction from the University of British Columbia. She earned her law degree at the University of Victoria. During her time at law school, she worked for a prominent union and for a community legal centre specializing in family law for self-identifying women and gender diverse people. She was a teaching assistant for Legal Research and Writing. Additionally, Claire participated in the Environmental Law Centre Clinic, and the Law Centre.
