Last Update: June 26th 2020 @ 11:00am PST
During the current COVID-19 pandemic, CLAS and our team of lawyers have been providing updates and information regarding the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB), Employment Insurance (EI), BC Temporary Rental Supplement Program (BC-TRS), and advocating for people who may be falling through the gaps between these new support initiatives.
Below, you will find various updates and information guides organized by their topic.
This information is no longer current. On June 24, 2020, the BC Government issued Residential Tenancy (COVID-19) Order No. 2. This order repealed the previous Ministerial Order with respect to Residential Tenancies. Many of the protections for tenants under the previous order have now been removed. Please refer to the Residential Tenancy Branch’s COVID-19 and Tenancies page for the most up-to-date information.
Given the federal and provincial directives around social distancing and flattening the curve for potential infections, the CLAS Office will be closed to the public effective Wednesday March 18th, until further notice. The length of this closure will depend on public health advisories and school and other closures, and during this time our staff will be working remotely off-site to serve our clients and communities.
CLAS will continue to provide services and ensure assistance is available to anyone as needed.
