Last Update: August 30 2021

On August 23, 2021, BC’s Public Health Officer announced that proof of vaccination would be required for people to attend certain social and recreational settings and events. More information, including the list of venues covered by the requirement, is available in BC Government news: B.C. launches proof of vaccination to stop spread of COVID-19 and Proof of vaccination – information from the Government of BC.

We understand that some people are concerned about these new requirements, particularly the lack of vaccination exemptions due to medical or religious reasons. At this time, we are unable to respond to the volume of calls and emails we have received about these issues. When the PHO’s final order is made public, we will provide updated information.

Below, you will find various updates and information guides organized by their topic.

Given the federal and provincial directives around social distancing and flattening the curve for potential infections, the CLAS Office will be closed to the public effective Wednesday March 18th, until further notice. The length of this closure will depend on public health advisories and school and other closures, and during this time our staff will be working remotely off-site to serve our clients and communities.

CLAS will continue to provide services and ensure assistance is available to anyone as needed.
