Jane Dyson

Jane has worked in the not-for-profit sector for over 20 years and was the Executive Director of Disability Alliance BC (DABC) for nearly ten years until October 2018. DABC operates programs to help people with all disabilities live with independence and dignity in the community. It also advocates for public policy designed to alleviate poverty and improve disability income supports. Jane has participated on a number of advisory committees including those for TransLink, BC Hydro, ICBC, and Vancouver Transit Police and is a former member of the Minister of Social Development and Poverty Reduction’s Advisory Forum on Poverty Reduction, and the Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) Action Group, the Vancouver Foundation’s Disability Supports for Employment Advisory Committee, and the BC Poverty Reduction Coalition. Jane is a former board member of the Plan Institute, and the Nidus Personal Planning Resource Centre and Registry.

She is currently Chair of ICBC’s Injury Recovery Design Panel, board member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC, a member of the George Pearson Centre Redevelopment Committee and joined the CLAS board in 2017. Jane has a Master’s Degree in Political Science. In 2015 she was awarded the Order of BC for her advocacy and community engagement work.
