Shannon Daub

CLAS Board Member

Shannon (she/they) is an experienced leader, communicator and researcher with deep knowledge of the BC and Canadian public policy landscape. They currently serve as Interim Executive Director with West Coast LEAF, where she was recruited to provide strategic leadership during organizational transitions.

Shannon was a founding staff member with the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives BC Office (CCPA-BC), helping to build the organization over 26 successful years. She spent five years as Director (2019 to 2024), during which time they led strategic planning that prioritized racial justice and decolonization, and grew the organization’s revenues and public profile. A core part of CCPA-BC’s role was bringing people and organizations together from many different social movements and academic disciplines to work in common cause toward social, economic, racial and environmental justice. Shannon is now a board member with the BC Society for Policy Solutions, whose board and staff team joined the organization after the closure of the CCPA-BC Office in early 2025 by the CCPA’s national board.

Shannon holds a Master of Arts in Professional Communication from Royal Roads University, where she has also worked as Associate Faculty teaching research methods. Shannon has extensive volunteer leadership experience across multiple sectors. They have served on numerous boards, including the BC Poverty Reduction Coalition, Living Wage BC, Wilderness Committee, CCEC Credit Union, Vancouver Public Library, and BC Library Trustees’ Association.
